norn
From the far north reaches of Tyriedar come the norns, a large Norse inspired race, driven from their homelands south by a great blizzard many years ago. Their religion, known as Reverence, exists all around them, and often demands sacrifice as payment. The capital city of Skorrajvik stands in Gya, across the water from the human city of Red Water, and the two are locked in constant battle over The Bloody Cross. As a strong, proud people, norn consider few other races, aside from dwarves, their allies.

elf
Blessed with the longest lives in Tyriedar, elves may only die from heartbreak or being mortally wounded in battle. Though they are tall, elegant creatures of great knowledge, they are also prone to being racist against all other peoples, and of the belief that they were created in the image of the Gods themselves. Magic is the most common among them, and therefore they are the most likely to dapple in the dark arts. Their capital is the beautiful coastal city of Camneas in Mirerenna, though elves can be found all over Tyriedar.

human
Though they are the youngest race in Tyriedar, humans dominate the population. In every region there is a human capital with a different monarch sitting on the throne, and each region has a different reputation, from the noble to the warmongering. They are known to be competent fighters, and open to developing magical powers, however they are also easily corrupted by power and prone to going dark. Despite their shortcomings, they are capable of being a lawful and gallant peple, and are likely the future of the realm.

dwarf
Often considered the oldest race of Tyriedar, there are few dwarves seen wandering outside their hidden kingdoms in the mountains, of which only two remain out of an original thirteen. Though often regarded as greedy and unwavering, dwarves are also a courageous and dutiful people who hold their culture dear. As a predominantly physical race, it is very rare that a dwarf develops magical powers during their long lifetimes.

halfling
Perhaps the most mysterious race of Tyriedar are the halflings. Though they are a diminutive people known for serving the taller races of the realm, little is known about their heritage before arriving on the mainland from a wild island off the coast of Mirerenna called Mesash. On the island live the wildlings, ancestors of halflings, and a small but savage race of people hellbent on keeping outsiders out of their homeland. Like most other races, they have their share of magic users, though their powers seem to be tied to mysterious glowing plants popping in forests, which they consider sacred.
